Our Grandson, walking through the World War II Memorial on the National Mall in Washington DC, we were in the Atlantic Pavilion of the Memorial enjoying the 56 granite pillars, decorated with bronze laurel wreaths representing US States and territories. The Memorial is dedicated to Americans who served in the armed forces and as civilians during World War II. The Memorial is fairly new, opening in April of 2004 at the eastern end of the Reflecting Pool on the National Mall in DC.
