Hirshhorn Museum

I grabbed this shot of the Hirshhorn Museum, a Smithsonian museum on the National Mall in Washington DC. The museum was initially endowed during the 1960s with the permanent art collection of Joseph H. Hirshhorn. The Museum now entering its fifth decade, the Hirshhorn is a leading voice for contemporary art and culture and provides a national platform for the art and artists of our time. Unfortunately, I did not go in as I was on a tight schedule that day but I am sure it is a great museum as all the Smithsonian museums are.

Thanks for stopping!

Smithsonian Rotunda

 Smithsonian Rotunda

Last month we had the pleasure of taking two of our grandchildren on a fun summer trip, Washington DC was one of our stops on the trip. We actually started in Gettysburg and finished up the adventure in DC. One of the stops in DC was several of the Smithsonian Museums. These shots are from the Grand Rotunda of the National Museum of Natural History, the third most visited museum in the world.

The kids loved it, even us bigger kids!

Thanks for stopping!
