The Jackson Hole moose, one of the iconic symbols of Wyoming’s rugged beauty. Situated amidst the stunning backdrop of the Teton Range, Jackson Hole is not only a haven for outdoor enthusiasts but also a sanctuary for diverse wildlife, including the majestic moose. Moose are well adapted to the rugged terrain and diverse ecosystems of Jackson Hole. They thrive in the wetlands, marshes, and riparian areas that dot the landscape, where they find ample vegetation to sustain their hefty appetites. These solitary animals are often seen foraging for aquatic plants, willow shoots, and shrubs, using their long legs to navigate through marshy terrain with ease.

We came across this guy on a drive down the aptly named Moose Wilson Road one evening after dinner, we were lucky enough to have a spot where we could get to almost eye level with two of these large creatures (We think they were younger). They meandered around for a while as we peacefully kept our distance and had fun photographing them for quite a while. We had several Moose encounters during our stay.

Thanks for stopping!
