The Nave

Our Lady Help of Christians Church in Pittsburgh PA sits silently in the quiet suburb of Larimer. Time has not been kind to Help of Christians, which could accommodate up to 1,000 worshippers in the nave and balcony in its heyday in the ’50s and ’60s. I believe this structure was left to rot away around 2007 or thereabouts and since has been vandalized with all its stained glass stolen.

We visited this beauty last weekend on a photography trip and it did not disappoint. This shot was from the balcony overlooking the Nave.

The Last Recital

Another image from a past trip with Brad Truxell when we explored the abandoned Larimer School in Pittsburgh PA. This was the gymnasium of the school which was a treat to shoot with the natural light coming in from the large windows giving the place an eerie feel.
