A shot taken back in February 2011 from the Tybee Island Pier. There were hardly any people around and a storm was rolling in fast. I thought the clouds and reflections made for an interesting scene. I actually captured this series of brackets using a 10 stop ND filter to smooth out some of the wave motion. I did not use super long exposures in this 9 bracket set because I still wanted to get the clouds and storm rolling in without too much blur.

One from the archives this spring Friday, Have a great weekend!

  1. I love everything about this shot Mike. The smooth even tones, the reflection of the pier. Boy I wish I was there especially with all this horrible weather we’ve been having.

  2. Lovely, as ever. The contrast between the smoothness of the water and the hard textures of the pier are great.

  3. Wonderfully composed and the light is so soft which makes it so appealingnMike.

  4. Love this shot Mike. The contrast of the pier against the stormy sky is fantastic.

  5. I somehow missed this beauty of a shot earlier, Mike. Been a crazy month.

This is my kind of shot, love these seascapes, they are like instant vacations. :-)
