Tondelayo

Every year the Wings of Freedom tour makes a stop at MAPS Air Museum and it is always a fun time to shoot these great old Aircraft. Tondelayo is a B-25 Mitchell Bomber, one of five other Bombers and fighter aircraft you could tour or fly in if you wanted.

I would imagine in the front seat with the pilot a ride would be fun but to be in the back of one of these bombers would probably not be too comfortable. Because of the engine exhaust placement, the B-25 was very loud inside, and from what I heard from other people it was terribly loud on their trip, even with ear protection. Many servicemen actually lost their hearing after serving on these aircraft.

The North American B-25 Mitchell, a twin-engine bomber that became standard equipment for the Allied air forces in World War II, was perhaps the most versatile aircraft of the war. It became the most heavily armed airplane in the world, was used for high- and low-level bombing, strafing, photoreconnaissance, submarine patrol, and even as a fighter and was distinguished as the aircraft that completed the historic raid over Tokyo in 1942.

Thanks for Stoping
