The beautiful coastline of the Southwest Head of Grand Manan Island in New Brunswick Canada. We spent a few days exploring the Island this month and had a great time and were rewarded with some amazing scenery. The Island is relatively small at only 21 miles long and about 11 miles wide at its widest point with a population of about 2,500 people. Grand Manan Island “Queen of the Fundy Isles” was the world’s top smoked Herring producer in the late 1800s, by 1920, it produced one million boxes or twenty thousand tons of smoked herring, all caught in its local waters.
