Sandstone Falls

The largest waterfall on the New River, Sandstone Falls spans the river where it is 1,500 feet wide. Divided by a series of islands, the river drops 10 to 25 feet. I wish I had some better light here when I visited, it was a cloudy warm afternoon and the river was calm.  The drive from Oak Hill (Near the Gorge Bridge) was interesting getting to this spot, GPS can take you on a curvy adventure, I will advise to look at a map first, but we had time and a camera so all was good and in the end and we were glad we ventured to this great spot along the New River.

Thanks for stopping
