Biltmore Estate Asheville North Carolina

Biltmore Estate

The Historic Biltmore Estate in Asheville North Carolina, nestled in the Beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. This is a shot from The Lagoon, capturing the back of the famous Estate. A must-see if you are in the Asheville area, and if you do visit, stop into The Wicked Weed Brewery for a Freak of Nature Double IPA, one of the best IPA’s in town (and there is allot).

The Biltmore Estate, the largest privately-owned residence in the United States built between 1889-1895, over 178,000 square feet built by George Washington Vanderbilt and still owned by the Vanderbilt’s descendants. Inside the house-252 Rooms including 33 bedrooms for family and guests, 43 bathrooms, 65 fireplaces and many conveniences for the time including forced air heating, electric elevators and even an intercom system. The largest room in the house, the banquet room, is 72 feet long and has a 70-foot high vaulted ceiling and a dining table that will seat 64 guests, quite a sight to see, unfortunately, they are very strict and do not allow cameras or any type of photography in the main house. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.
