Transamerica

Transamerica San Francisco CA

A post from Super Bowl City today. I will probably be routing for whoever has the ball, I like Carolina but I would also like to see Manning go out with a win to highlight his career, so hopefully it will be a great game regardless of the outcome. Good luck to both teams!

The tallest skyscraper in the San Francisco skyline is the iconic Transamerica Pyramid. I shot this a few years back on a quick trip out west. I got up early on a Saturday morning, starting out while it was still dark and ventured all over the city, from the wharf to the financial district. The city was pretty quiet and not many people were out so it was really peaceful.

The architecture on the  Transamerica building is really interesting, it was a cloudy overcast morning so I decided to take some shots up close and personal near the entrance of the building, while processing I just went with black and white for whatever reason, I just liked the symmetry and feel of this one. Although still called the Transamerican, the company no longer occupies the building, they moved to Baltimore a while back but they continue to use the icon in their logo and advertising.

Thanks for stopping!

I wish I would have seen this building the I was in San Francisco. Looks like I’ll have to go back. Great image Mike.

That is a cool shot of a cool building Mike. I actually had a business meeting there back in the 80s and was able to see the city from the top floor. No camera back then…
