Ropin

Ropin, another shot from the Wimberley Rodeo in the Texas Hill Country. My first Rodeo you might say. It was a blast shooting, a bit tough due to the poor lighting as the sun set but none the less a great time in the Texas Hill Country shooting with Dave Wilson!

Saddle Bronc Riding

Saddle Bronc Riding or Saddleback Bronco riding was one of the first events at the Wimberley July 4th Rodeo in Texas. Saddle bronc riding is a classic event, both a complement and contrast to the wilder spectacles of bareback riding and bull riding. This event requires strength to be sure, but the event also demands style, grace and precise timing. Dave Wilson and I shuffled around the rodeo arena getting the best vantage point for each event. Since this was the first event we still had some decent light to shoot with as the sun was just going down. Dave recently posted a similar shot of this same rider from the Rodeo, noting the determination in his face.
