Sunrise on the Kanc

Sunrise on the “Kanc”

Ahh…another great NxNW trip with a bunch of great friends, this year we all met up in the greater Boston area, with a target of shooting the Great White Mountain Range in hopes of great fall color and autumn magic.

This was our first sunrise that our whole group of 8 got to enjoy and it was a great one for sure, but very cold! This shot was from a scenic overview on the “Kanc”. The Kancamagus Highway, often misspelled and mispronounced Kangamangus Highway, Kangumangus Hiway or Kancamangus Highway. The correct way pronounce Kancamagus is “Kank-ah-mah-gus.” The Kancamagus Highway is a 34.5-mile scenic drive along NH’s Rt. 112 in Northern New Hampshire that is well known as one of the best Fall Foliage viewing areas in the country. The Kancamagus Highway is now designated an American Scenic Byway for its rich history, aesthetic beauty and culture. The weather was perfect along the Kanc when we shot this location, the rest of the trip was clear and kinda drab as lighting goes (unless you have a drone) we really got clouded in on our last morning sunrise shoot, but…that happens.

We were all treated to a great sky and a blanket of fog on the White Mountain Valley Below on this first morning, along with me that morning were some great photogs, Mark Garbowski, Dave Wilson, John Rogers, Steven Perlmutter, Robert Lussier, Scott Starks and Armando Martinez. Armando and John Rogers are licensed drone pilots and they both had wonderful shots of this morning, I encourage you to look them up!

Thanks for looking, more coming from the trip! #NxNWWM Live Free or Die!

Austin City Limits

The famous and Iconic Austin City Limits building and the nearby Willie Nelson Statue in downtown Austin. ACL is the longest-running music program in television history, the only television show to have been awarded the Presidential Medal of the Arts, and was recently recognized by Time magazine as one of the 10 most influential music programs of all time. It’s a show that’s presented a huge variety of musical styles and genres, hosting everyone from Willie Nelson to BB King to Foo Fighters and a show that’s been enshrined as a Rock & Roll Landmark in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. The pilot was shot on October 17, 1974, and starred Willie Nelson, who was not yet the iconographic American music figure he would become.

Another structure downtown along the river is the Fannie Davis Gazebo with Dave Wilson in the background, the Gazebo offers a spot to relax along the river. In the shot below someone unofficially designated the Gazebo as the Wille Nelson Designated Cannabis recreation area.

Thanks for stopping!
