Calming Fog

We stopped at Portland Head Lighthouse on our way to Acadia National Park during our NxNW trip in 2014. While we there some unkind weather moved into the area putting the damper on shooting for a while. Going back through some files of the area I pulled this one out, kind of liked the foggy atmosphere and the moody look gave with the long exposure. I did not think any of these were usable as there was quite a bit of mist on the lens (some of which you can see in the photo) but regardless I thought it was an interesting view of the lighthouse and Portland Harbor. Hearing the foghorn was really cool as well.

Thanks for stopping

The Path

The Path – Sunrise at Schwabachers Landing, Moose WY.

A beautiful morning sunrise at Schwabacher Landing and while most cameras were pointing towards the morning light hitting the tops of the Teton Range I happened to turn around and see the sky exploding behind me as the sun started to peak from the horizon. I went further down the path to grab this peaceful scene. Always look behind you!

Schwabachers Landing is a boat landing located a few miles south of Snake River Overlook, along the east shore of the Snake River in Grand Teton National Park. The boat landing is located off the combined U.S. Route 26/89/187, 5 miles (16 km) north of the park’s main headquarters at Moose, Wyoming. The landing is accessed via a dirt road immediately north of Moose and is impassable in the winter. Fishermen, canoeists and rafters use the landing to gain access to the Snake River, and it is one of four locations in Grand Teton National Park where the river is easily accessed.

Thanks for stopping! Have a great weekend
