Welcome to Utah!

I was lucky enough to be part of en Epic trip this last week. I met up with a group of great guys that also happen to be great photographers, and avid photobloggers . The journey started in Denver Colorado and took us through the great Rocky Mountains to the amazing area of Moab Utah, what a trip!

A BIG shout out to Justin Balog and Rick Louie, Justin and Rick were instrumental in setting up the details, transportation and even lodging. Both being from the Denver area proved to be invaluable on this Epic adventure. Offiially known as the NXNW tour (North by Northwest) our group consisted of some great talent and these guys were a blast to shoot with.

NXNW 2013- Justin Balog, Rick Louie, Dave Wilson, Bob Lussier, MarkGarbowski, Chris Nitz and myself.

The shot above was taken at beautiful Dead Horse Point National Park, I opted to go to the other side of the canyon and found this lone tree, the sun peeking through the tree made for a great 9 bracket HDR, I never really tested the sun flare quality on my 16-35 2.8L but it did not disappoint at f22. Much more to come from this great NXNW trip in the next few weeks  so stay tuned and check out the other NXNW blog sites as well, you will not be disappointed.

Thanks for stopping!

What a unique composition from the area! It almost looks like it would be from a seascape! Nice sunburst!

I love Dead Horse and everyone wants the iconic shot but, as you have proven with this image, there is a lot more to see. Beautiful shot and sun flare.
