Lake Dolores Waterpark, nestled in the Mojave Desert near Newberry Springs, California, stands as a captivating relic of American recreational history. Once celebrated as “The Fun Spot of the Desert,” this 273-acre man-made oasis has undergone a remarkable transformation—from a bustling water attraction to an abandoned canvas for artists and adventurers. This abandoned Park was our first stop on our Epic Route 66 adventure.
