The Shining

The Shining…DO YOU Have it?

We were standing outside the famous Stanley Hotel snapping pictures inside and out of this grand location where the inspiration of Stephen Kings book the Shining originated, I turned around to check out the Rocky Mountain Range behind me and boy was I was greeted with a surreal scene on the horizon over the Range…The Shining. The Sun was piercing through a huge bank of clouds in all directions, I believe they call these Crepuscular Rays. A perfect ending to the day and the fall color tour.

Thanks for stopping!

Mt Marcellina

Mt Marcellina -West Elk Mountains Range Crested Butte Colorado

The weather was constantly changing the entire day as we ventured through McClure Pass, Keebler Pass and a number of other various stops we happened to stop and capture the fall beauty of Colorado. Mt Marcellina was no exception, this mountain stood out and commanded your attention. The different layers of Aspens and other foliage along with the ever changing clouds made for a great scene. I happened to be shooting down the road and noticed another car with it’s door open grabbing some shots so I thought I would add it to the frame for some perspective of this vast area, makes you feel really small.

Another great spot on the Fall Color Tour.

Thanks for stopping!
