Tidal Basin

A shot of the Washington Monument from the Tidal Basin during my trip into DC to see the blossoms in peak bloom earlier this year. The trip was kind of a bust as I got word my cousin passed away the on my walk to the train into town from my room on my arrival day. That pretty much sucked the photographic mojo I had hoped for out of my head. But I was there so I had to make the best of the situation and did wander around the town for a few shots. The amount of people in DC during the Cherry Blossom Festival is CRAZY. The following morning I was set to meet Jimmy Jones for some sunrise shooting but that was a rainout as well, so we opted for a nice breakfast instead.

Hirshhorn Museum

I grabbed this shot of the Hirshhorn Museum, a Smithsonian museum on the National Mall in Washington DC. The museum was initially endowed during the 1960s with the permanent art collection of Joseph H. Hirshhorn. The Museum now entering its fifth decade, the Hirshhorn is a leading voice for contemporary art and culture and provides a national platform for the art and artists of our time. Unfortunately, I did not go in as I was on a tight schedule that day but I am sure it is a great museum as all the Smithsonian museums are.

Thanks for stopping!
