Remember The Alamo

Remember The Alamo

That famous Texas saying etched into the floor of the Texas State Capitol building in Austin. This scene immediately made me think it just might be a good candidate for the new 11mm, you can really do some cool things with a lens that wide. The different levels, the railings, and shapes all leading to the long hallway in the newer part of the Capitol building. The lighting was fairly dim in this area, once I got a look at the shot after it was processed I tried the black and white approach and I was pleased with the look.

Thanks for looking!

Austin Boardwalk

A cloudy gray morning in Austin along the Ann and Roy Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail at Lady Bird Lake, a lush, urban path that meanders along the water’s edge and passes by neighborhoods, ball fields, and cultural attractions. The boardwalk also has great views of the ever-changing Austin Skyline. As I mentioned the sky was gray and cloudy when we arrived but we hung around for a bit as the clouds started to break up and we did manage to capture a few shots before retreating from the heat.

Thanks for stopping!
