Fixer Upper

An old abandoned house along the road on a cloudy day always makes for a great photo, especially when the house has a character like this one. Bob Lussier and I stopped by this place on our way into the White Mountains after picking me up from the airport. The area had an old weathered barn as well that was very photogenic. We shot a few shots around both buildings and then met the rest of the NxNW group. We actually stopped by this place a second time with everyone later in the week. I was almost standing on top of the front steps when I shot this, the 11mm had no issues getting all of the crusty goodness of this place in the frame.

Thanks for stopping!

Rocky Gorge

One stop on our White Mountain adventure on a chilly Thursday morning was the Rocky Gorge area along the Kancamagus Highway in New Hampshire. It was still fairly early and the morning light was still warm not too harsh. The Gorge area is along the Kancamagus Highway and is a great stop for visitors. The area along the Swift River has several waterfalls and a footbridge over the Swift River that overlooks the waterfalls and sights along the river. There are also hiking trails along Falls Pond which is located right near the Gorge area.

This shot was taken up the Swift River opposite the falls, I liked the low cloud cover and beautiful reflecting colors on the river. This was processed in the new Aurora HDR software from Macfun using 3 handheld brackets. I am really digging this software so far and glad they finally have it available for PC. I am really impressed with the software after my initial use and I am sure it will make a nice tool in the future!

Thanks for stopping!
